Designed and animated for an upcoming documentary UP!, focused on the national spirit and history of volleyball in Porto Rico. 

 

This animation was inspired by a real championship game between 1956-1957 in Puerto Rico between Yauco and Adjuntas. Delayed by the heavy rains of Hurricane Santa Clara, these two teams finally finished their outdoor game at 3AM by pouring gas on the court, lighting it on fire, and throwing saw dust to dry it off. The Yauco won this series, just a year before the islands professional league was officially formed.
